If you think about it, Facebook is the strangest thing ever. It is crazy that 50 years ago the cell phone was invented, but now someone who is 50 years old can find out everything they need to know about the life of their 3rd grade boyfriend just by typing their name into the search box. I love Facebook and I don't know what I would do without it. This became clear when I left for college. Facebook can keep close friends connected when they are living halfway across the country. I went to the UT game last night, but I can log onto Facebook this morning and see pictures of my friends at the Ole Miss game. I love knowing I can physically be apart from my close friends, but still be able to be involved in their lives. There is also a creepy side to Facebook. You have to watch how much information you give out publicly because it only takes minutes for the information to fall into the wrong hands. How can the same website that keeps friendships alive also destroy lives when information is leaked? See... Facebook is the strangest thing ever. Do you think Facebook is more of a good thing or a bad thing?

I guess I've never really sat down and thought about how weird Facebook truly is; you are so right. It is creepy how information is so accessible on Facebook or any other website on the internet. I think Facebook is a neutral thing. It is good when it is used to catch up with friends, but it can certainly be used as a bad thing, like when people stalk others. It's bad because anyone can put any picture with any name on a Facebook page, and then they can send anyone a friend request and view their profile with all their information on it. Interesting blog, and you have a good point!
