Fall

Yesterday was the first day of fall. In the past the fall to me has consisted of our annual pumpkin patch at my church as a youth group fundraiser and I've always hated it so in turn I've always hated fall. I also get instantly unhappy when it gets cold outside so fall is pretty much a slap in the face. I would rather sit outside in the blazing heat than it be mildly cold outside. Allergies are also an issue in fall and mine are already starting to gear up. Fall does bring about some good things like pumpkin bread and football. Another perk to fall is Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. You wait all year for the most delicious drink they serve. They amp up the drink by just serving it in the fall and I hate to say it, but it works!! I get a lot more excited about spring because not only is hot weather ahead, but spring also means school is about it be out. What are some of your favorite things or least favorite things about fall?

kanye

I'm obsessed with Kanye West. I don't care what he does or who he offends he will always be #1 in my book. After the Taylor Swift catastrophe Kanye lost some fans to say the least, BUT that only made my love stronger. Don't get me wrong I FULLY understand how ridiculously inappropriate that move was, but let's get real... Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. I find it more ridiculous that after those few seconds of drunken craziness on the VMA stage the media reacted more than when natural disasters hit. We should be more concerned about our media than our dear old friend Kanye West. How did you react to the craziness that is the VMAs? How does everyone else feel about the king Kanye West?

p.s. If you are a fan make sure to check out Power and Monster by Kanye.

Facebook

If you think about it, Facebook is the strangest thing ever. It is crazy that 50 years ago the cell phone was invented, but now someone who is 50 years old can find out everything they need to know about the life of their 3rd grade boyfriend just by typing their name into the search box. I love Facebook and I don't know what I would do without it. This became clear when I left for college. Facebook can keep close friends connected when they are living halfway across the country. I went to the UT game last night, but I can log onto Facebook this morning and see pictures of my friends at the Ole Miss game. I love knowing  I can physically be apart from my close friends, but still be able to be involved in their lives. There is also a creepy side to Facebook. You have to watch how much information you give out publicly because it only takes minutes for the information to fall into the wrong hands. How can the same website that keeps friendships alive also destroy lives when information is leaked? See... Facebook is the strangest thing ever. Do you think Facebook is more of a good thing or a bad thing?

bumper stickers

Today my mom called me and told me my brother would be coming by my house to pick up my car and take it back to Atlanta with him for the rest of the year. I didn't bring the car to college with me, but I was still pretty upset to hear my car would not be home when I returned for breaks and such. The most depressing part of the whole phone conversation was when my mom told me that my brother, Andy, would take off all the bumper stickers I have on my car. I only have 5 or 6, but all the stickers are special to me. Think about what you can tell from just sitting in traffic and looking at the back of someones car. You can sometimes tell their political view, their stance on social justice issues, where they or their children attend school, sports teams they like, etc. I love everything about bumper stickers. Bumper stickers serve as a mini biography of the drivers who live in the same city as you or are visiting from out of town. Think about how many times you have run out for groceries and seen a car in front of you with a bumper sticker for the school you attend. Personally I love running errands and seeing the car in front of me sporting a big orange power T. Seeing the commonality in myself and those in my city makes me feel so excited. What are some of your favorite bumper stickers on your car or funny bumper stickers you have seen?
